My name is Aycan Gulez, and I am a software architect. My major projects include midori, a JavaScript web development framework and WowBB, a user-friendly forum software.
For me, creating software is like trimming a bonsai tree. If I am not absolutely sure that a line of code or interface element is necessary, it must go. I am not talking about simplicity here, it is more about elegance. There are often a lot of solutions to a single problem, but only a few of those are really elegant. Not surprisingly, people prefer elegant solutions over ugly contraptions. Yes, it takes more effort to create an elegant product, but the rewards are exponentially better.
I currently live in the beautiful city of Istanbul, Turkey, and I am married to the best woman in the world. Life is good.
